Lord Magnus

Alpha & Beta Artists Fact

New 19 Sep 2016 Asked by mrpopogod 118 Comments

Fact of the day: Of all the artists featured in Alpha & Beta, only Mark Tedin and Rob Alexander have illustrated enough cards and basic lands to build Commander decks using only cards of a single artist. Rob lets you run Rubinia, while Mark supports four different commanders: Endrek Sahr, Ertai, the Corrupted, Johan, and Lord Magnus.

Origin of Lord Magnus

Hi Mark! Because of my nickname, I collect Lord Magnus. Do you have any info of who designed him or why he as designed as he is? Thanks a lot, also for the great way you communicate with us fans :).

Legends was designed by a team led by a man named Steve Conard. I do know that all the legendary creatures in that set were based off of roleplaying characters of people that Steve knew.  I don’t know the story behind Lord Magnus but someone somewhere played him probably in a Dungeons & Dragons game.
