Card Ideas for Blogatog World

New 16 Jul 2024 Asked by banksyguythrowingthings 9 Comments

"What other cards should Blogatog World have?" Sally and her squirrels. Banana foods. Rabiah Storm Beebles. Power Creep. New World Order. Drive to Work (but its "drive" like desire). Welcome to Blogatog. Selective Foretelling. Maybe :) (a red coinflip + punisher counterspell).

I like most of these suggestions. Two comments:
  1. I don’t thing Blogatog has ever been pro-banana.
  2. The multiple meaning of Drive to Work is intentional.

Slivers and Omen Paths

New 02 Jun 2024 Asked by argentium-echo 28 Comments

Hey Mark, now that we've got Omenpaths, does that at all affect where Slivers are sitting on the beeble scale?

No. The issue with Slivers is a mechanical one (they require a lot of structure) not a flavor one.

Has there secretly been a ninja beeble hidden in the background of at least one card in every set?

Maybe. : )

Beebles Rarity

New 16 May 2024 Asked by exalted-boda 6 Comments

Has there been a set without Beebles? And if so why? 🧐

There have been many. Why? Because too many R&D members have yet come to understand the genius that is the Beeble. : )

Phyrexians Future Rating

What's Phyrexian as a creature type on the Beeble Scale after what's happened in march of the machine

I’m skeptical we’ve seen the last of the Phyrexians, but I don’t expect to see them soon. Let’s call Phyrexian a 5.

Beebles Return?

New 11 May 2024 Asked by aalgot 8 Comments

Why are beebles so unlikely to come back in the first place.

Some people believe they totally don’t fit. I, obviously, believe they are wrong and am working to change minds in R&D.

Beeble Scale Ranking

Hey, big fan of some of the more "monstrous humanoid" types here, particularly around Red, and I was wondering where in the Beeble Scale would Ogres, Trolls, Cyclopses and Giants be?

Giants are a 1, Ogres a 2, Trolls a 3, and Cyclops a 4.

Beeble Containment Strategy

New 11 Apr 2024 Asked by kallixti 90 Comments

Suppose a multi-planar civilization discovered a furry beeble on one of its planes. Would imprisoning the beeble in a high-security vault and then completely abandoning the plane be a reasonable response to such a threat?

Some advise as such.

Beebles and Un-sets

New 05 Apr 2024 Asked by onecentpenny 23 Comments

I know we’re unlikely to see Beebles outside of un-sets but why? Are they not well received? Everyone I know loves them

Some things take a while to undo (See Squirrels in black border). I’m working on it.

Unique Creature Types

New 31 Mar 2024 Asked by ultwarrior 34 Comments

I would just like to express my lifelong love for some of the unique Magic-ese creatures and creature types we've had through the years. Slivers, Atogs, Llhurgoyfs, Spikes, Beebles, Kavu and so on bring a real charm to Magic that sets it apart from other fantasy settings and can be pointed to as uniquely "ours". I'm sad that many of them don't get printed any more and I hope we don't see a total loss of things like this in favour of more broad/generic terms. Long live the Atogs!

We’re still making unique creatures. It’s not something we’ve stopped.

Brushwagg and Beebles

New 16 Mar 2024 Asked by jurrasicoresposts 27 Comments

Does the re-emergence of brushwagg in previous sets mean anything for the future of beebles?

I’m not sure the two are connected.
