Un-nistrad Possibility

New 04 Oct 2022 Asked by wildcardgamez 59 Comments

"(to dig up bones on Innistrad probably)." Does this imply that within the Un-set multiverse there exists a version of Innistrad? An Un-nistrad if you will?

As the foremost authority on the Un-inverse, I say yes.

Comet's Loyalty Mechanics

New 03 Oct 2022 Asked by admiralsmash-blog 35 Comments

What happens if you roll Comet's -2 loyalty ability when he only has 1 loyalty? Does the ability resolve then he goes to 0 loyalty and dies?

You gain or lose loyalty where the symbol tells you. In the case of the -2, you deal the damage before you lose the loyalty. If Comet is at 2 or below, Comet will leave the battlefield (to dig up bones on Innistrad probably).

Teaching Mana Concepts

New 23 Sep 2019 Asked by siamkor 55 Comments

In my experience, every person I taught who learned how to play with text-less basic lands thought that "add M to your mana pool" meant tutoring for M. I tried to avoid mentioning what a mana pool was because you had said it caused initial confusion, but eventually had to dig up old basics with text and explain the mana pool concept.

Having taught a lot of people, I’ve learned it tends to come down to how you teach them the basics. I found teach them one way, and most make that mistake, teach another, and no one does.Changing “add M to your mana pool” to “Add M” has helped some.

Detectives and Law

New 17 Mar 2018 Asked by antediluvian-microchip 42 Comments

your stereotypical detective is always breaking the law in order to dig up information. black means for white ends, although sometimes vice versa as well.

Always breaking the law is more red than black.

Color-Test Availability

New 15 Mar 2018 Asked by feynorfoxling-blog 57 Comments

Is there any wizards of the coast sanctioned/sponsored color-test people can take? If not, I think that is something a lot of people would enjoy.

We had some during Ravnica and Return to Ravnica. Can a kind person dig up a link to one or more of them?

Magic Reunion

New 23 Apr 2017 Asked by acclimation6 36 Comments

Mark, today is my 6th year anniversary of getting back into Magic after a 4 year hiatus. Since then, I've made lots of friends, some that turned into incredibly close friends, had an excuse to travel, and had some experiences I never would have expected to have happen, all from deciding to call up a friend and ask if he wanted to dig up his old cards and play for nostalgia after cleaning out my closet. Thank you for all your hard work in making this wonderful game!

You’re welcome. I always enjoy hearing stories like this.

Revisiting Kamigawa

New 22 Feb 2017 Asked by daemonaeon 70 Comments

Not to dig up and beat an old dead horse, but given Magic's consistent unprecedented success as of late, don't you think people as a whole would be more than willing to give Kamigawa 2.0 a shot?

I can’t with a good conscience go to my bosses and say, of every option available to us, I recommend the world that was critically and financially one of most problematic worlds we’ve ever done.

Weatherlight Information Sources

New 14 Mar 2015 Asked by jasonroschbach-deactivated20160 28 Comments

Where is the best place for one to dig up as much information as possible on the Weatherlight saga?

There are a bunch of articles online and a few in old Duelists. There was also a book of short stories. Any tips in comments would be appreciated.

Horizon Boughs Art

New 04 Mar 2014 Asked by sariadog 6 Comments

Can you dig up the art description for the Planechase card Horizon Boughs?

The art description quotes the Magic book that first described it. It doesn’t say which book.
