Mycosynth Lattice

Battles Entry State

Do battles enter "tapped"? Asking for shenanigans like clock of omens + mycosynth lattice

The enter untapped, but being tapped doesn’t have any mechanical relevance.

Mycosynth Praise

New 31 Jan 2023 Asked by ghostlygideon 37 Comments

For the record, I was a huge fan of Mycosynth Lattice before commander when it's viability was dubious and am THRILLED to have the new Encroaching Mycosynth! Only 4 MV instead of 6, doesn't fix my opponents mana is definitely worth the trade off of not artificing my lands. I will be running both, please give a high five to whoever designed it!

Will do!

Design Iteration Philosophy

New 31 Jan 2023 Asked by dmateodiazp 50 Comments

So, is the new encroaching mycosynth just Mycosynth lattice but weaker? i feel like there is a lot of time spent "fixing" old designs instead of just doing new ones, like emrakul in zendikar vs SOI or Iona shield of emmeria, etc... why not just do new designs?

Because every format is not eternal.

Karn/Mycosynth Rules

New 12 May 2019 Asked by nyan-b1nary 44 Comments

Minor rules question: Does new Karn/Mycosynth Lattice affect mana abilities?

I wanted New Phyrexia to use two-brid as a way to show Phyrexian influence of Mirrodin, but then Aaron came up with Phyrexian mana.

Planeswalker Ability Limits

New 15 Oct 2017 Asked by fairyking-nova 62 Comments

This is an old question but is become a topic in my community. If I have march of the machines and Mycosynth Lattice and a planeswalker out and I play quicksilver elemental will I be able to infinitely spam a Planeswalker ability?

Nothing about that combo makes planeswalkers not still planeswalkers and it’s the planeswalker status that limits the loyalty ability use to once per turn. Judges can double-check my work.

Red's Weaknesses

New 27 Feb 2017 Asked by mr-obliterator 21 Comments

In regards to red's weaknesses. Maybe more temporary mycosynth lattice type effects need to exist. Giving red the ability to turn all objects in something it can kill in order to get rid of them?

That is not in red’s pie. Red’s transformations are not controlled or predictable.

Affinity's Return Skepticism

New 22 Aug 2016 Asked by zakkariassatanas-deactivated201 41 Comments

Tuesday is my birthday. I wanted to request trivia on the subject of Mycosynth lattice, and the possible return of affinity in Kaladesh?

I believe Affinity will one day return but I’m skeptical it will be Affinity for Artifacts. For a brief time, Affinity for Artifacts was considered for Scars of Mirrodin but ended up turning into Metalcraft.Happy Birthday!

Lands and Permanents

You can attach lands to permanents using multiple cards though, like mycosynth lattice and bludgeon brawl.

Fair enough.

Planeswalker Creature Mechanic

New 17 Apr 2013 Asked by eldritchander 6 Comments

I feel terrible about participating in the bombardment of “Does... fall into into Black's color pie” type of questions, but now I'm curious about something. Would the ability to turn Planeswalkers into creatures be black? My thought process is that it is done to make them mortal and therefore, easier to put to death. Currently, the only way to turn them into creatures is with blue and artifact interactions, such as March of the Machines + Mycosynth Lattice.

Anything as yet undefined is fair game to turn in for You Make the Card.
