If we want to try our hand at Magic design and share it on tumblr, is there a way we can make sure you don't accidentally see it? Like, maybe tagging it with a tag that you have blocked? I also don't want to get you in trouble because of my hobbies.

I would like to invoke the rite of birthday trivia to request something about my favorite character, Avacyn!

From time to time we have what we call “brain to print” cards where a cards gets to print in the exact form it was designed. Avacyn, Angel of Hope was one such card. I made it in early vision design, and it never changed (I think they tried different mana costs, but ended back at where I started).Happy Birthday!

Despite being Archelos' home plane, I noticed a distinct lack of Turtlefolks on Bloomburrow- even including the commander set they did not even get a one-off card. Additionally, not a single art in the set depict one, and the closest we got was a Frogfolk wearing a turtle shell (in my opinion looks a little morbid to be honest). Which leads me to ask, did something happen to them?

Frogs and Turtles were the two front runners for green/blue and Frogs won out. Bloomburrow does have one Turtle.

We’ve done numerous cards that reference unprinted (at the time) cards in rules text. None that tutor come to mind. Here’s the closest I could think of: (no Eldrazi card had been printed yet)

Are there any cards that portray ducks? I couldn’t find any. 🦆

It’s a playtest card, and not quite a duck:

"Design blog -> designer language." - That's reasonable. What isn't reasonable is expecting every player to know your jargon. Try meeting us halfway. If someone asks about power creep, and you know they mean power churn, correct the term, but also answer the question that you know is being asked. (Same with "flip cards" when you know they mean DFCs, or other instances of jargon that players may use incorrectly.) Otherwise you come off as dismissive, or incapable of understanding our concerns.

I don’t always know what you mean. And often I’m answering questions in between living my life, so my attention is not always 100%. I tend to answer what is literally being asked. Sometimes I can catch when the asker means something different, but often I don’t. I’m not being dismissive or incapable of understanding your concerns. I’m just a busy guy multitasking. What this means is if you use other terminology sometimes I’ll catch it, but often I won’t. If you ask about flip cards, I’ll usually talk about flip cards. I’ve been doing this blog for over ten years (answering over 150,000 questions), and I’ve found this thing that makes people happiest is me getting to their question, so I try answer as many as I can. If I misunderstand you question, ask again and let me know what I misunderstood.
