Usage of Unused Art Assets

Do you have hope to use unused Unglued 2 arts elsewhere?

We used a bunch in Unhinged, and a couple (like Atogatog) in other places. I’m doubtful we’ll use more.

“ Unglued 2 was mostly completed, including all the art, and it was cancelled.”. Was any of that art used for later Un-sets or even non-Un-sets? Do y’all even track that kind of information?

A little of it was used in Unhinged (mostly on promo cards) and on Atogatog in Odyssey.

I singlehanded designed Atogatog for Unstable 2. I also wrote the art description for it. The art on it was commissioned for Unglued 2. When Randy Buehler suggested a cycle of ally Atogs in Odyssey, I a suggested also adding Atogatog.

Where did the blog name originate?

It’s a riff off of Atogatog, a card from Odyssey.

Technically it ended an hour and a half ago, but could I possibly get some belated birthday trivia on chronatog, or atogs in general?

The first one was a red creature in Antiquities that liked to eat artifacts (Atogs is an anagram of “goat”.) I was a huge fan of Atog so when I realized that a green creature in Mirage was essentially a green Atog, I changed it into an Atog and named it Foratog. I then created a cycle of Atogs one in each color over the next year. Then in Odyssey development, Randy Buehler, the lead developer, asked if I could make a cycle of allied-colored Atogs so I did. I also gave him Atogatog, a five-color Atog I’d designed for the unreleased Unglued 2. Happy Belated Birthday!

Atogatog, art and all, was designed for Unglued 2, the Un-set that never got made. In Odyssey, Randy Buehler, the set’s lead developer wanted to add a cycle of multicolor atogs. I designed the cycle and informed him I had a bonus sixth card, art included. Happy Birthday!

Atogatog, card text and art, was all created for Unglued 2 which got put on hiatus and never got made. During Odyssey development, lead developer Randy Buehler asked if I could design a cycle of multicolored atogs. I designed it and then told him I had six atogs for him instead of five. One of them even had art already, I explained. Happy Birthday!

Hey MaRo, Who designed psychatog? I am in a quest to get mine signed by both the designer and Edward P Beard Jr.

I designed Psychatog. I actually designed the whole gold cycle in Odyssey. Randy Buehler wanted to add a multicolor agog cycle and I came up with a a design. I also convinced him to put Atogatog in which I had made for Unglued 2 which never happened.

Loving Atogatog

MaRo, I want to like Atogatog, but the melvin in me can't enjoy it. Atogs are anti-linear with other atogs, because a deck full of atogs has no artifacts or enchantments for those atogs to eat. How can I learn to stop worrying and love the Atogatog?

Atogatog was never meant for Melvin. If you need to sleep at night, imagine there are atogs, as yet undiscovered, that are artifact creatures and others that are enchantment creatures.

Wait a minute... if the art for Atogatog was done pre - odyssey, how does it have the art for all the odysset atogs in it? Were those Unglued 2 , well?

It doesn’t have the Odyssey atogs. It has the original cycle of five atogs (Atog, Foratog, Chronatog, Necratog, and Auratog).

The list is long. I’m the guy who made the mixed race cycle in Invasion. You know things like Goblin Merfolk. I made a good chunk of Future Sight. Most squirrels done were on my watch. I’m not sure the goofiest.
