Hello! So in the future, when we (hopefully) come back to an eldrazi themed set again, is it possible to get a new, non titan, legendary Eldrazi? A few of them to me "feel" legendary, such as Void Winnower and It That Betrays.

Anything that is not a titan is just an extension of a titan. None are their own entity.

Hey Mark, what's up? My birthday was 2 weeks ago but I didn't know what to ask. I was wondering if you have any trivia on Void Winnower, one of my favorite cards. High fives to everyone at WotC and thank you for all you do for the game.

Void Winnower was designed because we were trying to come up with Eldrazi designs that seemed offbeat and made them feel alien. Originally, there was one the cared about evenness and one that cared about oddness.Belated Happy Birthday!

Designing Around Unease

The designing around unease was a reference to specific design choices like the 3 bug gods and void winnower, and just about all of Innistrad. These choices that challenge our sense of balance and completion. When and why these choices are made would be quite interesting to know.

I tend to be very exact. Innistrad was more about unease, creating a sense of anxiety. Battle for Zendikar was trying to create an enemy that was unfathomable while Amonkhet was playing more into discordance, of you knowing that others can’t see the truth that you can.

Leak Enjoyment

Sorry to say this, but you'll have to count me as another one that enjoyed the extra leaks. All too often, particularly with Magic hyped cards lead to buyers remorse and I would rather not spend my money only to be disappointed with the cards after a month and you guys have a really bad habit of hyping cards that have little if any constructed merit. To use BFZ as an example: Zada, Noyan Dar, Akoum Firebird, Void Winnower, and so on. Bad cards have to exist, it's dishonest to hype them.

We hype cards because we think someone will get excited. High level tournament play is important but actually a tiny fraction of Magic players. Only hyping the cards a small section cares about to the exclusion of all the other players is a far greater injustice. In other words, you don’t have to enjoy every card we hype. Many of them aren’t for you.

Your unruling for "Look at Me, I'm R&D" and "Void Winnower" makes no sense. You said before that it doesn't change reminder text so it can't say that zero is odd. What other numbers on the card could you change to have it affect what can block or be cast? "Even" is not a number...

They were talking about changing the card affected not Void Winnower.

I was a little sad that Void Winnower was the only 'odd matters' card. I was hoping for 'exile target creature if its converted mana cost is even' or something :(

The “odd matters” theme was a bigger theme at one point in design.
