More Enchantment Tokens?

New 26 Jan 2019 Asked by forestd3w 25 Comments

FYI: Enchantment tokens. We have some. Estrid's power makes aura tokens and Imperial Mask also makes token copies of itself.

I was aware. The question was about us making more.

Hexproof and Shroud FYI

FYI: White has 5 cards that give you hexproof (Aegis of the Gods, Imperial Mask, Leyline of Sanctity, Spirit of the Hearth and Shalai) and 3 that give you shroud (Ivory Mask, Solitary Confinement and True Believer). 2 artifacts for hexproof (Witchbane Orb and Orbs of Warding) and one green card for shroud (Form of the Squirrel) close the lot.

RE: teammates: Imperial Mask predates any other black border team card by a long long time.

Future shifted cards are this close to being silver border. : )

Checks and Balances Mechanics

Could Checks and Balances be printed in a black border set? That is, is there anything about it that couldn't work in the rules?

Imperial Mask, a future shifted card uses the term “teammate” and Surge from Oath of the Gatewatch references “teammate” in its reminder text, so my guess is yes, you could probably do a functional identical card in black border, but more likely a Commander set.

Re: Enchantment tokens. The Future Sight enchantment Imperial Mask makes token copies of itself when it enters the battlefield.

But that’s from the future. And only a possible future at that.

Enchantment Tokens

Re: "We've had creature tokens, artifact tokens, artifact creature tokens, and enchantment creature tokens. Are enchantment and aura tokens something that might see the light of day eventually or is there not enough design space?" There is "Imperial Mask" enchantment card from Future Sight that puts enchantment token.

That means there’s a potential future where they might come to pass. : )

Teammate References

Can we see more cards that refer to teammates? "Target creature you or a teammate controls", that sort of thing? And/or cards in the vein of Imperial Mask and Team Spirit?

How would you all feel about a card that references a “teammate”?

Enchantment Tokens Future

Is there something that makes enchantment tokens (being non-creatures)? If not is there a possibility of seeing it in the future?

Future Sight has a future-shifted card that makes enchantment tokens (Imperial Mask).

Format-Specific Cards Future

New 18 Mar 2013 Asked by sarroth 4 Comments

What are your thoughts on cards designed mostly for other formats, like Imperial Mask, Team Spirit, Fractured Powerstone, or even Command Tower, which cannot be played outside of Commander? Could we see more team play or Commander specific cards, perhaps in future supplemental products?

Every card is made for some subset of players, some for multiple subsets. I’m fine with dedicating a card here or there specifically for a particular format if it’s popular enough. Usually the place for those is supplemental products that are already aimed at certain subsets of the audience.
