Hello Mark! My birthday was on the 3rd, but it's been a busy few days so I'm just now cashing in my birthday trivia!Do you have any trivia on Grove of the Burnwillows? Or perhaps Future Sight as a whole?

Grove of the Burnwillows was part of my cycle of cycles dual land cycle, where each futureshifted dual land represented a whole cycle of dual lands. Grove of the Burnwillows was made as an anti-pain land (aka the Ice Age dual lands), where the cost was the opponent gaining a life instead of you losing one. Happy Belated Birthday!

When or If: a cycle of ten dual lands that are at a higher power level than the shocklands but not as good as the Alpha duals, in an Eternal-only legal product?

If. I’m not sure we want to make dual lands more powerful than the shocklands.

Why are so many land cycles made Rare? It feels awful in draft to pick a land as opposed to any impactful card, but you need those lands for constructed, so it really feels at odds with itself.

Rare dual lands are more about constructed than limited. Common dual lands are more about limited.

If it hasn’t been mentioned, let me note that my favorite thing about the Fallout decks is that we’ve completed the Odyssey dual land cycle. Well done!

Is there a reason Grove of the Burnwillows was a one of? If we are talking color pie it seems like we could see a couple more color pairs and have it still feel appropriate.

Future Site did a cycle of future-shifted dual lands where each one came from a potential future dual land cycle. That’s why there was only one.

At the prerelease one player had 7 Slime against Humanity (2 were foil) it was really impressive watch their opponant just unable to really manage it, kind of reminded me of Pack Rat. But the two most egregious deck was the ultimate winner with 4 mythics and 4 rares with 2 copies of Aurelia's Vindicator, Incinerator of the Guilty and Argus Kos, then double Elegant Parlor, Wojek Investigator and Krenko, with 3 copies of Lighting Helix to really round out the deck. While my first round opponant got dual lands for 5 rares, Reenact the Crime and Archdruids Charm, they had only 4 removal and only 2 flyers in their whole pull. Sometimes you get lucky and sometimes Oko shows up and steals all your playable rares. Overall the games were some of the most fun nearly every player I spoke with had in years. Great job.

If or when: two color legendary lands? It's a niche I'd like to fill in my Lara Croft deck, at least.

If. Dual lands usually want to be run in multiples (in all formats that aren’t singleton).

Having made stronger and stronger dual lands over time do you forsee a cycle very near the strength of the original Dual Lands or possibly surpassing them at some point?

Power level is not my area of expertise, but I’m skeptical that will happen.

Hi Mark,Cashing in my Birthday Trivia to find out more about my favourite cycle of lands; The Time Spiral Storage Lands. What can you tell me about them?

The Time Spiral storage lands were an attempt to give players access to colored mana, but at a rate that was slower than traditional dual land. That allows us to let it enter the battlefield untapped. We did try vanishing lands before that (aka dual lands that enter the battlefield untapped but only stick around for three turns), but they didn’t play well.Happy Birthday!

What're the chances of the other Future Sight dual lands getting complete cycles, like with the filter lands and horizon lands? (So more of Grove of the Burnwillows, Nimbus Maze, and River of Tears)

I’ll call it possible, but not highly probable. The ones we liked how they played have been cycled out. The ones remaining, we have issues with, but who knows, I never say never.
