Anointed Procession

Red's Token Doubling

New 12 May 2024 Asked by berryjon-patternrecognition 20 Comments

If/When: Red getting a Sorcery that allows them to make double tokens for the rest of the turn, a sort of one-shot Doubling Season or Anointed Procession?

If. I could see red doubling damage, or something else very red, but token making is not primary in red.

Blue Token Doubles

"Second my question, could blue have a card that doubles all your non creature tokens? Similar to anointed procession or parallel lives." "Maybe it could double your artifact tokens." There's a few ways to make enchantment or land tokens too, it would be cool to include them in it

Blue’s not the color to double lands or enchantments.

Hey, first congrats on the induction, you really deserve it. Second my question, could blue have a card that doubles all your non creature tokens? Similar to anointed procession or parallel lives.

Maybe it could double your artifact tokens.

Anointed Procession is doubling tokens.

White can double tokens. That’s going wide.

Anointed Procession's Color Bend

Is Anointed Procession a bend or a break? All previous token doublers had been green.

It’s something we might expand somewhat to white.

C19 Deck Building Limits

New 09 Aug 2019 Asked by donenzone 44 Comments

Could you please explain to us why anointed procession and parallel lives were not reprinted in the c19 populate deck? They were needed reprints that were a perfect fit.

There are a lot of factors and restrictions that go into building a fixed deck product. For instance, the inclusion of one card can often keep you from including certain other cards, so a delicate balance has to be reached.

Doubling Effects in Standard

New 16 Feb 2019 Asked by wifuehvbw-blog 48 Comments

Hi Mark! When Parallel Lives rotated out of standard, we had to wait 6 years until Anointed Procession was printed to have the "create twice the tokens!" effect back in standard. Will we have to wait that long to have that effect back in standard?

I’ll keep making doubling effects, but I can’t guarantee set design keeps them in the sets.

Dominaria Prerelease Fun

New 21 Apr 2018 Asked by juravern 58 Comments

Had a blast at Dominaria prerelease, everyone's loving it, even those of us who started with Kaladesh or Amonkhet, who are only now getting to know Teferi and Jhoira and the rest for the first time. But I'd like to say that I love KLD and AKH and Ixalan, and that I wish I'd been there for the full SOI experience, as a counterpoint to all those people who seem to hail DOM as the 'return to real Magic'. 'Real Magic' didn't get me into MTG, energy and Eldrazi, League and Anointed Procession did.

Glad to hear.

Doubling Season Origin

New 04 Jun 2017 Asked by couchguypho 35 Comments

Can you explain how the design of Doubling Season came about and why there have been neutered versions (Parallel Lives and Anointed Procession) being printed instead of reprints?

It came about because it was a card I wanted to have. Luckily, a lot of players felt the way I did. The card, which predates planeswalkers, is too good with loyalty so we’ve made newer versions that capture pieces of it without hitting loyalty.

Maro are you responsible for Anointed Procession? Seems like your deal.
