Scavenging Ooze

Green Graveyard Exiling

New 25 Jan 2018 Asked by tdixon12 32 Comments

In the Mechanical Color Pie article, you do not list green as having access to "exiling cards from a graveyard." What about green's ability to exile creatures from graveyards (ie. Scavenging Ooze, more recently Deathgorge Scavenger in Ixalan)? Has green lost access to this?

That article was so big in scope, some small things fell through the cracks.

Scavenging Ooze Trivia

Hey, finally my birthday today! Can you make me feel less old with some trivia on one of my favourite cards, Scavenging Ooze? Thanks!

I believe Scavenging Ooze was partially inspired by an old Magic card called Night Soil. It ate cards out of the graveyard to make tokens.Happy Birthday!

Would Scavenging Ooze fit mechanically as a mono-White card?

The individual mechanics mostly line up but the overall flavor is a bit lacking.

Commander to Standard Cards

Is there ever a possibility that we'll see a card created for a commander supplemental product be printed in standard set?

We already did it with Hornet Queen and Scavenging Ooze.

Graveyard Hate Color Pie

If only black and white get graveyard hate in the form of exile, does that makes Scavenging Ooze a color-pie violation?

Green is tertiary in traditional graveyard removal.

Standard Meta Concerns

I know you are not a Developer but in current Standard we have Rest in Peace, Deathrite Shaman and Scavenging Ooze. Shouldn't those be able to take care of the 'Goyf? They even do the trick in Legacy.

Having answers is not reason enough to allow an overpowered card to be printed.

Missing Ooze Lord

New 06 Aug 2013 Asked by sirlrb 14 Comments

Let me just say how sad I am right now that there was no Ooze lord in RTR block. We were given a one drop in Experiment One, a two drop with Scavenging Ooze, a three drop in Predator Ooze, Slime molding to to fill holes in our curve, and good old Acidic Slime as a five drop. Standard is screaming for an Ooze Lord. WAY TO DROP THE BALL! :P

I’ve already said publicly that I made a mistake not putting an ooze lord in Gatecrash.

Standard Set Inclusions

New 06 Jun 2012 Asked by wuyley 9 Comments

Will we ever see the new cards from the multiplayer sets like Chaos Warp and Scavenging Ooze in normal standard sets or are they reserved for only the "special" sets?

Chaos Warp falls in my Hornet Sting box. If it was on my radar (I’m mostly focused on the expert expansions), I would have tried to kill it.

Are Commander cards (like Scavenging Ooze and Flusterstorm) eligible for reprint into Standard?

Yes, they are eligible.
