Cyborg Support in Unstable

New 21 Oct 2021 Asked by thestoreman 31 Comments

Do you think Ustable could have used Cyborg support? Just like Chicken (now Bird) or Donkey before it, Squirrels, Brainiacs and Riggers got at least one tribal card. Or did the Watermark support for the Order of the Widget provide a tribal identity for this group anyway?

Yeah, we used watermark support for each of the five factions in Unstable.

Future Un-sets

New 17 Aug 2019 Asked by royalcrown5662 23 Comments

When we next receive an un-set, what is the likelihood we will increase the tribal card pool from previous sets (brainiacs, clamfolk, etc.)?

I don’t get to do Un-sets all that often, so I tend to push towards new space rather than supplement what’s already been done.

Game Triumph

Just the other day I killed an opponent with a Sly Spy F and The Big Idea. I tapped 24 brainiacs to get 8 extra dice and I even had squirrel powered villainy out.

Good job. : )

Super Secret Tech Clarification

New 01 Dec 2018 Asked by slimegirl-pseudopod 32 Comments

In rules question: if I am using Super Secret Tech, do my foil tokens count for the power/toughness boost? (Example being the brainiac tokens from Unstable or the recent foil FNM tokens

If the physical token card is foil, it counts as a foil for Super Secret Tech.

Brainiac Tokens Watermark

New 01 Dec 2018 Asked by mgmegadog 16 Comments

If you have Brainiac tokens created by The Big Idea on the board, represented by the Brainiac token cards that come in Unstable packs, do they have a League of Dastardly Doom watermark or not? (TBI has one, but the token cards themselves have no text box and thus no printed watermark...)

If a card doesn’t literally have a watermark, it doesn’t have a watermark for Un-purposes.

Painiac's Headwear

Is Painiac wearing a hat?

No, that’s just his head. All the brainiacs have the jars with brains as part of their head.

Creature Type Policy

New 25 Nov 2017 Asked by moone513 37 Comments

If you can make new creature types (like Brainiac) why can't you resurrect old ones? (Like minion)

Silver border sets have carte blanche to name new creature types but bringing back ones we’ve retired is frowned upon.

Brainiac's Identity

New 29 May 2017 Asked by ashepherdwood 29 Comments

"Hey mark, what would brainac's identity be?, i know that he would be blue since he is obsessed with the gathering of knowlegde" "He's pretty blue" I'd think Dimir since Brainiac isn't just obsessed with gaining knowledge, he also has a strong self-interest streak in that he doesn't just gain knowledge, he also destroys the original source (ie: blowing up Krypton) so that he's the only one who has it.

Brainiac, as a character, has had a wider range of execution than most comics characters. His biggest incarnations have been blue/black, monoblue, and white/blue.

There are different versions but almost all of them are blue/black.
