Does Underdome add mana of any color that can be spent on any card from Unfinity, or can it only be spent on acorn cards? Thank you

Just acorn cards.

Unfinity Collector Requests

New 03 Oct 2022 Asked by jeffsachs 32 Comments

Hey Mark,

I want to thank you for giving Unfinity Collector Boosters a "list" slot. This is going to help me in my dream of making a fully foiled all un-card Commander deck (to get the best use of Super Secret Tech). I would like to request foil printings of: Timmy, Power Gamer; Strategy, Schmategy; Bronze Calendar; Jack-in-the-Mox; Checks and Balances; Common Courtesy; Free-for-All; Cheatyface; and Underdome.

In addition the following are really hard to get a hold of in foil and could use a reprint: Johnny, Combo Player; Who/What/When/Where/Why; Gleemax; Mox Lotus; City of Ass; Super Secret Tech.Thank you for all you've done for silly magic!

You’re welcome. I wish you the best of luck in your mission.

On Acorn Cards and Underdome

New 16 Jan 2022 Asked by simicmimic 24 Comments

Will cards like Underdome still work with acorn cards if R&D’s Secret Lair is out?

The plan is yes. With an exception or two (such as Border Guardian), “silver border” will become “silver border or acorn stamp”.

Underdome Interactions with Un-cards

New 16 Jan 2022 Asked by sirencerwal 30 Comments

Silly Un-ruling that would ever really come up in Kitchen table, how does Underdome interact with Un-cards from Unfinity onward? Would it be able to produce mana to cast all of them since they are all from a silver bordered set? Would it only be able to work on Silver Border and Acorn Stamped Cards? Or would it not be able to cast Legacy legal nor the Acorn Cards since neither are technically "Silver Border Costs"?

It will work on silver border and acorn cards.

Hi Maro, I am excited for unfinity, but I’m wondering if the Underdome land works with “acorn” cards?

Yes, it will.

Errata for Silver-Border References

New 29 Nov 2021 Asked by genderlich-deactivated20211204 27 Comments

Will cards like Underdome that reference silver borders receive errata to work with "acorn cards"?

Basically, yes. A few cards like Border Guardian which is more about the state of the border rather than something being an Un-card might not get errata.

Mana for Black-Bordered Cards

Can I use colored mana from a underdome to pay for a silver bordered card I am playing as a black bordered card using Richard Garfield P.h.d?

No.

Un-Non Basic Land Analysis

New 10 Mar 2020 Asked by yeckit-blog 27 Comments

Could we get an Un non-basic land that you can have any number of in a deck? It'll allow color fixing for an Unmander deck for someone that only wants to use silver bordered cards, baring basics.

We made Underdome as a land to help, but playing silver border doesn’t mean color shouldn’t matter.

Underdome Joke Explained

Is there a joke on Underdome? It fell flat for me, which means I'm probably missing something.

It’s a joke on Thunderdome.

Underdome's Elegant Design

New 29 Jan 2020 Asked by smurfyscott 32 Comments

Just wanted to say that Underdome is a delightfully elegant design. Does exactly what it needs to do. The whole set looks great.

Happy to hear that. Underdome was the last card we designed. It was added to help the enemy commanders work in the product.
