Other creatures with all 5 CMC requiring coloured mana: The Spirit Avatar cycle from Shadowmoor/Eventide (Demigod of Revenge, Deus of Calamity, Ghastlord of Fugue, Godhead of Awe, Ghastlord of Fugue, Deity of Scars, Divinity of Pride, Dominus of Fealty, Nobilis of War, and Overbeing of Myth). So there's another 10.

Check the article. It now mentions them. : )

EDH Hybrid Mana Rules

The squeaky wheels are always the loudest, but I've never noticed anyone who didn't intuit that hybrid mana spells weren't ok in monocolored EDH decks. The spell clearly has qualities of both, it is not either/or as you've put it. If it were, the rules would reflect that, but as the game works now I can successfully Red OR Blue Elemental Blast that Dominus of Fealty, so the card IS Blue as much as it IS Red. The rules of the game disagree with your stance. Besides you don't even like EDH :D

I’m merely pointing out that it’s inconsistent with the rest of Magic. Yes, it can be rationalized away and obviously the format is doing just fine so I have no need to try and change it. This is a blog were I talk about design topics and that choice is, in my opinion, poor design.  That doesn’t make it the wrong decision, by the way. Sometimes you trade intuition for game balance.

Commander Rules Insight

"In every format except Commander, a mono red deck can play red hybrid cards because hybrid cards aren’t “and" but “or". A red Commander shouldn’t play anything non-red but red hybrid cards are red." But a fundamental rule of Commander is that your deck can't even produce colors outside your commander's color identity. Spells that are "mono-hybrid" like Dominus of Fealty aren't 'pure red' enough, in other words. Corollary: Shock or Brainstorm would never be 'mono-hybrid', they're too 'pure'.

When I wrote that Commander article, I got a lot of mail from players saying “I too have always felt that way.” My point is that Commander treats hybrid different than every other format and that it is unintuitive to a lot of players myself included. Obviously, there are others who feel the opposite.

Silver-Bordered Rules Query: Could I cast a Dominus of Fealty with Two-and-a-half red mana and two-and-a-half blue mana?

Yes.
