Birthday Combo Trivia

Hi Mark. I was sick during my birthday a week ago and forgot to message you. As a Spike limited player I was reminiscing earlier about simpler times. I started in Revised, and still love MTG after all these years. When I first started playing as a kid, I was in love with the combo of Bog Wraith and Evil Presence (so much flavor). Can you give me fun trivia about a combo that YOU enjoy?

The first combo that fascinated me was Lure and Thicket Basilisk. The first deck I made was monogreen as my first Starter deck had a Craw Wurm.Happy Belated Birthday!

The Costing of Legends

New 31 Jan 2021 Asked by mikel1234567-blog 46 Comments

The costing of the original Legends weren't that bad, in my opinion. At the time, human summons were pretty tiny and most games involved battles of mythical creatures. The Legends were humans that were big enough to compete on such a battlefield (Livonya Silone could 1v1 a Craw Wurm, for goodness sake!). And as a flavor innovation, Legends opened the biggest door in the game for future designers. The Legacy storyline would only exist on cards as flavor text if it weren't for the Legends set.

The concept of legendary creatures was a great advancement. The costing of the vast majority of legendary creatures in Legends was abysmal. Most were seriously overcosted, and this was at a time when creatures were overall much weaker.

Storm Crow Confusion

Uh oh, Maro. You called Storm Crow a bad card! Isn't that, like, number one on the LIST OF THINGS YOU SHOULD NEVER DO?! If you don't respond, I'll assume the Storm Crow smote you or something.

I, um, was talking about Craw Wurm.

Masters 25 Card Choices

Why aren't Craw Wurm and Storm Crow in Masters 25?

Because many players dislike when we put bad cards for limited at common.

MaRo! As tomorrow is both of our birthdays and I'm sure you're gonna be busy celebrating (as am I) I'm asking my birthday trivia a day in advance. My question is what got you into magic in the first place and what colors did you favor playing starting out?

I first heard about the game when people came into the game store I was working at asking about it. It sounded cool so I tracked it down. My first deck was monogreen built around my best card - Craw Wurm!Happy Birthday, Birthday Buddy!

Hello from Thailand! Today's my first time birthday ask. Can you share trivia about the first packs of Alpha that you opened? Thank you! ^_^

My rare in the first Alpha booster pack I opened was Darkpact. The card that exited me most though was Craw Wurm. Remember in Alpha, the rarity wasn’t called out, so I had no idea what my rare was.

Generational Magic Influence

New 08 Aug 2015 Asked by dabluemekanic-blog 44 Comments

My dad, who used to be a very intense Magic player, showed me how to play the game when I was about 7. My first deck was a green ramp deck, and I giggled every time I slapped down a Craw Wurm, thinking that nothing could possibly stop it. Then of course my dad would counter it with his Big Blue control deck (my dad is awesome, but merciless evidently). When I picked the game up again, those repressed memories of being countered and bounced resurfaced, and I play control in his honor/terror now.
