Syncopate

Syncopate's Rarity

May I ask why Syncopate is at common in Dominaria? I thought X costing spells didn't go at common (not a single one showed up at common in the 6th age of design until now). I feel having algebra show up on commons isnt the best move for mtg.

It’s a red flag, so we have to consciously choose to do it.

Ravnica Reprint Choices

In Return to Ravnica and Gatecrash, why weren't there more reprints from the original Ravnica block? I love the new sets but it feels like a missed opportunity to not put cards like Lightning Helix (over Martial Glory), Putrefy (over Rights of Reaping), Remand (over Syncopate), Faith's Fetters (over Arrest), etc. in. It could only have helped made limited, constructed, and casual play more awesome while having the nostalgic feel long time players enjoy.

The cards players remember the most tend to be the most powerful. We wanted to make the best cards in this format new cards from this block rather than repeats from the last Ravnica block. Remember, the block’s not over yet.

Syncopate Naming

Why is it named Syncopate?

Because it’s a cross between Power Sink and Dissipate.

Music's Magic Color

New 09 Sep 2012 Asked by orbofinsight-blog 8 Comments

My sister, who is a musician as well as a Magic collector, was very excited by the reveal of Syncopate for Return to Ravnica. She wanted me to ask you: which color is the most likely to make use of music?

Red.
