Sorin, Lord of Innistrad

Emblem Timing

"Stop the planeswalker before they cast the emblem." Was Sorin, Lord of Innistrad a design mistake?

I think smaller emblems can come out sooner.

Birthday Trivia Request

New 18 Jul 2014 Asked by mimkana-deactivated20171030 24 Comments

Hi, so, yesterday was my eighteenth birthday. I sent you two asks but you didn't answer, but it would really mean a lot to me if you could give me some trivia about Sorin, Lord of Innistrad or Tamiyo, the Moon Sage?

Sorin’s ultimate as originally designed by me to be the ultimate for Nicol Bolas. Happy Birthday!

Token Rarity Concerns

New 12 Jun 2014 Asked by bigorns-deactivated20180316 35 Comments

The problem with the ad cards is that they are no longer expendable. Tokens are cool and useful in the game, but some are so rare that they become way more expensive than they should. Pulling an ad card when you could have the sweet vampire token for Sorin, Lord of Innistrad? That's a real bummer.

Would you rather never get tokens than occasionally get tokens?

Token Distribution

Has there been any recent discussion on making tokens more evenly distributed? Having tokens mirror the rarities of the cards that make them makes it quite difficult for many players to obtain the correct tokens. You can always trade for a Sorin, Lord of Innistrad for example but trading for a 1/1 lifelink Vampire is significantly harder.

The quantities aren’t based solely on rarity but also how many people will need. Tokens that cone cards producing multiple tokens have more made to help people acquire them.

Reanimating Planeswalkers

New 14 Aug 2012 Asked by stackweaver 13 Comments

Excluding Sorin, Lord of Innistrad and Sun Titan there are no cards that reanimate planeswalkers(as far as I know). Every other permanent type can be reanimated with effects ranging from Argivian Restoration and Replenish to Crucible of Worlds(and obviously Reanimate itself). I am wondering if a card that says "return target planeswalker card in your graveyard to the battlefield" could ever be printed. I mean ultimately is it really that much more broken than turn three Karn Liberated in Modern?

Why don’t planeswalkers have cards that let us avoid mana costs like every other permanent? Um, because we’ve gotten smarter.

Token Rarity

New 14 Feb 2012 Asked by brokenenigma 1 Comments

Do tokens have an unmarked rarity? For example, the 1/1 black Vampire token with lifelink is only made by the mythic Sorin, Lord of Innistrad. Would it statistically have a lower chance of being opened than a 1/1 white Spirit token with flying, which has multiple sources at different rarity levels?

Tokens in packs do have a rarity in the sense that there are so many on the sheet. Some appear more often making them easier to open while others appear less making them “rarer”.
