Seismic Assault

Rebels and Seismic Trivia

New 01 Oct 2016 Asked by bordergeist 26 Comments

HI Mark, it's about 12 hours after my birthday; I was wondering if you have any trivia on Rebels (the Masques creature type/mechanic) or the card Seismic Assault--two things played big roles in my early-mid Magic life. And thanks for the wonderful, wonderful game!

I created Seismic Assault as a one-sided (non World) version of Land’s Edge from Legends. Happy Birthday!

Modern's Mana Flexibility

Bronson Magnan won with a Aggro Loam deck (BRG) that features 3 Seismic Assault (RRR) and 3 Liliana of the Veil (1BB), and yesterday Conley Woods talked about a "mono blue" deck with 4 Vedalken Shackles, and 4 Ancient Grudge. Don't you agree that Modern's mana base is just too permisive?

The bigger the format the more permissive the mana base is going to be due to the sheer amount of mana producing cards. Is it too permissive?  Time will tell.
