Rangers as Universes Beyond

New 24 Jul 2024 Asked by consequencenotwithstanding 13 Comments

Hey Mark! My partner had asked me if MMPR would be capable of becoming a Universes Beyond set, and given that I know nothing about how or why you can/can't work with certain properties to make products, I thought I'd ask you.

The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers are capable of becoming a Universes Beyond.

White's Future Abilities

In the new colour pie article, you list playing cards off the top of your library as secondary in white. As far as I know, Verge Rangers is the only thing like that white has at the moment. Does this mean that we can expect to see more things like it in white going forward?

I said all colors have access to it if they’re playing things in color. Note it’s not something we do very much in any color.

White's Land Tutoring Progress

Mark, recent sets made me feel that White is slowly becoming more actively a secondary color in land tutoring or putting lands onto the battlefield from some place. It already had some cards, but in a short timespan it got Flower, Birth of Meletis, Cartographer's Hawk and Verge Rangers. Is it something we may expect to continue seeing this frequently?

We recognize white needs to be able to make land drops in Commander, so we’re finding in color ways to do that.

Color Identity in White

Verge Rangers is a worse Courser of Kruphix, Cartographer’s Hawk is a worse rampant growth. Is White's new color identity to be worse than anything green does?

White is primary in some effects and secondary in others. Yes, it does its secondary effects worse than the primary color. That’s why it’s secondary. : )
