Xerex on the Rabiah Scale

New 21 Jul 2024 Asked by submergedforgottencladogram 2 Comments

Mark, it's my birthday this week, and I'd like to thank y'all for timing Bloomburrow prerelease to nearly occur on my personal day of celebration, a set I have been very jazzed about since it was announced. I really love the possum druid in particular.

For my question though, where is Xerex on the Rabiah scale? I really enjoyed the glimpses of surreal Escher geometries and the alien beings that live there.

Xerex is a 9. “World that’s hard to comprehend” is not an ideal premier setting.

Appreciation for Wildlife Representation

as a huge possum fan, i am so thrilled about Tender Wildguide. It's so cute, and a card I'm both excited to open in limited and put in constructed decks. A cool fun design and one of my favorite little animals. I'm sure other people are having similar reactions to cards where their favorite animals are showing up. Everyone responsible forgetting the little animal set made should feel great about it.

Happy to hear that.

Armadillos and Folklore

New 11 Apr 2024 Asked by submergedforgottencladogram 41 Comments

Mark, I love OTJ, and how it uses the fauna, flora and folklore of North America to feel 'western'. Armadillos, Mountain Bighorn Sheep, Prairie Dogs, Buzzards, Coyotes, Roadrunners, Gila Monsters, Wolverines, Porcupines, Tumbleweeds (nevermind the Tumblewaggs), Beavers, Possums, Badgers, a knight riding a Moose, a battalion of various Cactus-folk and a Magic version of Paul Bunyan and his Blue Ox. Its like a roadtrip from my childhood through Wyoming, Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico and western Texas was condensed into a set, even the panning for gold at a tourist trap! All I'm left wondering is when can we return so we can get a card inspired by John Henry, the steel-driving man, and maybe an ornery bison or two.

Please dole out copious high fives to those who had the idea that this set needs a bunch of critters from the southwest and the Rocky Mountains to feel like a western setting.

High fives shall be applied.
