Increasing Non-Evergreen Keywords

We are getting 10-20 new non-evergreen keywords every year? And we all hope the game will live for another 28 years at least. And even today you can see players, not only beginners, mix up fading and vanishing, forgetting that the opposing gargadon gets hast after the last time counter. When a card has no space issues (Chatterstorm?), the potential downsides of not having that little italic line of text become huge. And with every year it's more of a mental burden, for enfranchised players too.

The main versions - which accounts for 98+% of all copies of the card - have the reminder text. We’re talking about the booster fun versions that will be seen by a tiny portion of the audience, mostly enfranchised people.

Red Trivia Birthday

It's my birthday! Could I have some trivia about my favorite color, Red, or some of my favorite cards; Godo, Bandit Warlord, Greater Gargadon, or Jaya Ballard, Task Mage?

Jaya Ballard was a really cool design where each ability mimics a different card from the past. Our biggest regret? No room for flavor text. It seemed wrong that the character best known for her flavor text didn’t get any on her card, but we really liked the design. Also, her last name comes from a city in Washington state. Happy Birthday!

Future of Suspend

What are the odds we'll see suspend again? Seems like there's a lot of cool things you can do with that. Cards like Greater Gargadon were fun. Only abuse of suspend was the result of Cascade. Speaking of which, how about cascade?

Not good. Suspend is currently on the R&D dislike list. It was wordy and hard for players to understand. It was also fidgety and required bookkeeping. Worst of all, market research showed that the majority of players weren’t that fond of it.
