Dr. Julius Jumblemorph

Changeling Flavor Tie-In

New 20 Oct 2022 Asked by wertercatt 24 Comments

There are 5 cards with the rules text ‘is every creature type’ including Dr. Julius Jumblemorph from UST. Is this for a flavor > function reason where only Shapeshifters can have the actual Changeling keyword?

Changeling has a flavor tie-in.

Surgeon Commander's Role

High fives all around for Un-Sanctioned, and in particular for Surgeon General Commander. I've been trying to build a Dr. Julius Jumblemorph commander deck for a while, and swapping him in fixes just about all the deckbuilding problems I was having.

That was the card’s purpose. Note that the name is just Surgeon Commander. The General has been crossed off.

Legendary Brushwagg Count

"I wouldn’t get your hopes too high though." I mean, we already have one legendary Brushwagg.

I think you mean two. Did you forget Dr. Julius Jumblemorph? : ) Okay, maybe you remembered him and forgot Mistform Ultimus.

Un-Rules Clarification

Hi Mark. Un-Rules questions. Do coins count as dice and do dice count as coins? If a coin is a two-sided die, what happens if you increase it with Snickering Squirrel? Is heads 1, or 2? Also, Is Dr. Julius Jumblemorph a villain? (I know he is. What I mean is, if he had a printed creature type, would villain be on it?)

Coins are not dice.

Creature Type Omission

New 29 Nov 2017 Asked by mowdownjoe 33 Comments

So, why doesn't Dr. Julius Jumblemorph have a creature type on its type line, a la Mistform Ultimus or the Changelings? I understand it has no mechanical relevance, but it helped for flavor reasons with Mistform Ultimus and the Changelings.

The lack of a creature type was for flavor and humor.

Swapping Creatures

New 23 Nov 2017 Asked by armadagon 60 Comments

Mark, if my opponent has Dr. Julius Jumblemorph and I have Mary O'Kill with a Curious Killbot in hand, can I use Mary O'Kill's ability to swap Dr. Jumblemorph with the Killbot in my hand? If so, whose hand does Dr. Jumblemorph go to?

You can. Your opponent’s Julius Jumblemorph would change to your control and end up in your hand. The Killbot would go to your opponent’s control on the battlefield. Note that your Mary has to be on the battlefield to do this. Remember to exchange them back at the end of the game.

Host Supertype Explanation

New 18 Nov 2017 Asked by bailite 15 Comments

From the templating, it seems that Host is a card type rather than a supertype. Augment cards and Dr. Julius Jumblemorph say 'a host' rather than 'a host creature'.

We’ve changed the template as tribal’s been gone for a while. Host is a supertype.
