Biovisionary Rule

New 13 Mar 2024 Asked by violet-returned 27 Comments

If I have a Biovisionary in play, and I make my Five Kids in a Trenchcoat into a copy of it, do I win the game?

I don’t think so, “counts as five creatures” is not the same as “is five different creatures”. The former only has one name.Note, this is just my best guess.

Biovisionary Gameplay Memory

Happy birthday Maro. My favorite story comes from a multiplayer match among friends. I was playing a biovisionary deck with all sorts of reanimations, and copy spells. i got to the point of generating four or more a turn, and the whole game came to everyone murdering biovisionary after biovisionary. To this day it is still one of my favorite games of magic, poor biovisionary clones.

My kind of game. : )

Please thank the whole team for whoever designed Hedron Alignment. I've been looking for a new alternate wincon since Biovisionary rotated out, and I love that it scries to help find the solution to it.

It was designed by Ken Nagle (way back in the first Great Designer Search).

Winning Conditions Trivia

New 18 Oct 2015 Asked by infantofatocha 22 Comments

Can I have some birthday trivia on my favorite card: Biovisionary? or failing that some trivia on cards with "you win the game" text? alternate win conditions are my favorite.

Most people are unaware that Battle of Wits was part of a block-long, cycle of monocolored cards, each having a synonym of “struggle” in their name. Happy Birthday!

Alternate Win Conditions

What happened to alternate win condition cards? We haven't had any since Return to Ravnica block! There are none in Theros Block, M15, nor Tarkir block! I liked having things like Biovisionary and Maze's End around in Standard.

They aren’t going away.

Biovisionary Name Game

New 17 Apr 2014 Asked by normandean 28 Comments

Inspired by an earlier Un-rules question: what if you change ____'s name to "four or more creatures named Biovisionary" (note the quotes). Do you win the game then?

Nope. You need four different creatures each named Biovisionary. Nice try.

YMTC Influence

New 28 Mar 2013 Asked by mtgraptor 3 Comments

"The past You Make the Cards influenced other cards. Double strike, for example, was a submission for You Make the Card #1." And Biovisionary from most recent set was among the choices for vote at YMTC 1
