Vaevictis Asmadi

Magic Family Dynamics

Looking through the legends, Invasion establishes a few parent/child pairs of characters. Barrin and Rayne get paired with the Hannah card, Karn gets paired with Blind Seer (who is Urza), Crosis is Chromium and Piru's son (Piru won't get her card until MH2), and Rith is the daughter of Palladia-Mors. If we look outside legends, all the Shivan Dragons are descendents of Vaevictis Asmadi, so we had a possible nonlegendary parent/child pairing by Legends.

But Barrin/Hanna is first of those. (At least with Urza having a card called Urza.)

It's my 21st birthday today. For birthday trivia, can you tell me anything about Vaevictis Asmadi?

I believe all five of the Elder Dragon Legends were characters from role playing games played by the set’s design team. The five Dragons would also be the original inspiration for the Commander format. Happy Birthday!

Third time's the charm: For my 21st birthday, can I get some trivia about my favorite of the original Elder Dragons, Vaevictis Asmadi?

If the card followed modern color pie, the black would be power and toughness pumping (a la a shade), red would be power pumping (a la fire breathing) and green would be power and toughness pumping but only usable once per turn (a la Rootwalla). Happy Birthday.

Elder Dragons' Fate

Re: The Elder Dragons: Going by the old comics, Vaevictis Asmadi was probably killed by Palladia-Mors. Arcades Sabboth was killed by the planeswalker Kristina. Chromium was killed by Tevesh Szat. Palladia-Mors was last seen alive, but may have been killed by Bolas, since Bolas has claimed to be the only surviving Elder..

Well, I was right that they were dead. : )
