Palladia-Mors

Magic Family Dynamics

Looking through the legends, Invasion establishes a few parent/child pairs of characters. Barrin and Rayne get paired with the Hannah card, Karn gets paired with Blind Seer (who is Urza), Crosis is Chromium and Piru's son (Piru won't get her card until MH2), and Rith is the daughter of Palladia-Mors. If we look outside legends, all the Shivan Dragons are descendents of Vaevictis Asmadi, so we had a possible nonlegendary parent/child pairing by Legends.

But Barrin/Hanna is first of those. (At least with Urza having a card called Urza.)

Hexproof Ability Potential

Palladia-Mors’s hexproof for a limited time after hitting the battlefield is a pretty cool ability - it helps you avoid "feel bad" situations where you finally get this big dragon out only for your opponent to immediately Murder/Doom Blade/etc. it. Sure, it's not protected indefinitely, but it guarantees you can at least do SOMETHING with it before it gets killed. Is this something we could see on more creatures in the future? If so, what colors do you think it'd be in?

What do you all think of this restricted hexproof ability?

Elder Dragons Story

Hey Mark, I had a question about the story of M19. From the Weekly MTG Stream, you guys talked about the Elder Dragons will have a part in the story, but I was wondering which Elder Dragons you guys were talking about, the Elder Dragons from Dominia (Bolas, Palladia-Mors, etc.) or the ones from Tarkir (Atarka, Dromoka, etc.)?

The ones from Legends - the original Elder Dragon Legends.

Re: Non-Bolas Elder Dragons: All of them are dead, except for Palladia-Mors, who is under an eternal sleeping spell, so she may as well be dead.

How is Nicol Bolas's relationship with Palladia-Mors?

I’d call them invested pen pals.

Nicol Bolas's Sister

FYI, Nicol Bolas does have a sister in actual Magic canon: Palladia-Mors. She's just permanently under a sleeping spell right now.

Elder Dragons' Fate

Re: The Elder Dragons: Going by the old comics, Vaevictis Asmadi was probably killed by Palladia-Mors. Arcades Sabboth was killed by the planeswalker Kristina. Chromium was killed by Tevesh Szat. Palladia-Mors was last seen alive, but may have been killed by Bolas, since Bolas has claimed to be the only surviving Elder..

Well, I was right that they were dead. : )
