Suspend Mechanic and Upkeep Trivia

New 15 Jun 2020 Asked by polluxr 41 Comments

I'd like to invoke the Birthday Trivia clause, please. :) Any trivia on Suspend or the upkeep in general? Big fan of the cycle of sorceries that re-suspend themselves after being cast and I always try brewing decks with upkeep triggers with Paradox Haze. hahaha Also please high five whoever designed the M21 Time Stop! Thank you!

Suspend was originally designed for a small set, but I told them it was too big a mechanic for a small set and saved it. It was the mechanic that inspired the idea of a time-themed block (aka Time Spiral black). Happy Birthday!

What's your favorite card that doubles things? I'm a big fan of paradox haze.

Doubling Season will always hold a warm place in my heart.

Ixidor Birthday Trivia

It's my birthday today! Could I get some trivia on 'Ixidor, Reality sculptor', "Paradox Haze" or the Haunt mechanic?

Ixidor is one of the antagonist of the Odyssey story. He’s the one that brings Akroma to life and was response in story for the morph mechanic. Happy Birthday!

What are the chances of an "upkeep matters" block, with a Paradox Haze reprint?

Low.

Curse vs Tribal

New 13 Nov 2013 Asked by gigaguess-deactivated20181203 11 Comments

Doesn't Curse carry the same baggage Tribal does? The "why is THIS a curse if THAT isn't?" Or is it different because there aren't many "Enchant Player" cards (Paradox Haze being the only non-curse one, and frankly, isn't much of a curse...)

The lack of enchant players helps.

Complex Decks

What is the most mathmatically intensive deck you have built or seen? Doubling Season, Paradox Haze,Thallids, and Mycoloth have caused me to break out the calculator a couple of times to figure out how many Saprolings I get.

Luckily, I wrote an article about it: http://www.wizards.com/magic/magazine/article.aspx?x=mtgcom/daily/mr310

Frankie Peanuts Strategy

New 17 Feb 2012 Asked by furbyfubar 14 Comments

If I have both Frankie Peanuts and Staying Power (or Paradox Haze) is play, can I win by asking my opponent: "Will you answer the next question with a yes?" and then "Will you (decline to) concede this turn?"?

Few understand the awesome power of Frankie Peanuts.
