Lore Seeker

Booster Pack Definition

So, for Booster Tutor and Lore Seeker, what counts as a booster pack? Do the Dominaria and Guilds theme boosters count? What about the DotP promo boosters? A standard showdown or an Ugin's Fate pack? A seeded booster from a core game 7th, 8th, or 9th edition?

If it’s a sealed booster pack, you’re good to go. Not in an actual booster? No good.

Sanctioned Conspiracy Query

If I'm playing a Sanctioned Conspiracy draft, and I draft Lore Seeker, am I allowed to add a pack of Unhinged to the draft?

Not in sanctioned play I believe.

Lore Seeker Design Space

How do you feel about Lore Seeker? Do you think it could help open up design space for a black border Booster Tutor?

Don’t confuse Conspiracy cards as being black border. The non-tournament-legal subset should have probably been silver bordered.

Lore Seeker Justification

If neither blue nor red can get a 1C no-drawback 2/2, why is Lore Seeker allowed?

Artifacts occasionally do things better than the weakest color. As long as we are careful not to undo color weaknesses and we keep it to a minimum, it tends to work out. Lore Seeker was also from a supplemental set that was trying to make sure the new card type saw limited play.

Conspiracy Prerelease Luck

I just had the conspiracy prerelease and I got really lucky. I first picked a heartless hidetsugu and second picked a fact or fiction so I decided to go blue red. I then opened (and first picked) a dack fayden in the second pack and second picked a lore seeker. I got innistrad, and opened three rares (skirsdag high priest, ludevic's test subject, and a foil gavony township, so I used an agent of acquisitions I got in the first pack to draft the whole pack. Conspiracy is great :)

Sounds like you had a great time (and lots of luck).

If someone drafts a lore seeker, who pays for the pack chosen?

The person with the Lore Seeker.
