Feldon of the Third Path

Feldon's Color Alignment

New 08 Mar 2023 Asked by miresmalice 40 Comments

I have always been curious about Feldon of the Third Path - his effect doesn’t seem strictly Red, and many similar cards exile their tokens instead of sacrificing them. I know there has been some changes to the colour pie’s jurisdiction since the card was printed, is Feldon of the Third Path still mono-red or does his ability infringe on another colour?

We let red get items out of the graveyard for one turn which is the space Feldon is playing in.

More Disabled Characters

Regarding characters with disabilities, Feldon of the Third Path has a cane that is also a card. Tymna the Weaver is blind. Veldrane of Sengir is missing an eye. Finally, Norin the Wary seems to have extreme social anxiety. :D

Red's Positive Emotions

New 11 Jul 2018 Asked by samircd-blog 58 Comments

Red has the emtion space in the color pie, but all I've ever seen from red are the "negative" emotions like anger, fear, etc. The closest we've ever come is Feldon of the Third Path, but even then it's just using Red's artifact loving section of the color pie, and even then it's from a supplemental set. I also get that this is a game about combat, but if Red were to express things like love, desire, longing what would the mechanical output of that look like? Is this something you've tried?

We do it occasionally like on Cathartic Reunion.

Modular Monstrosity Token Query

If I create a token of Modular Monstrosity (That has no had no abilities named on it) with Feldon of the Third Path's ability, since tokens are not cards, if I name Trample would future tokens be able to name trample as well?

Any version of Modular Monstrosity, token or card, counts towards your named abilities for the day.

Red's Regrowth Limits

"[What can Red regrow?] It can get back instants and sorceries but that’s it. Not artifacts, ..." Does that mean Feldon of the Third Path and Goblin Welder are out of pie? What about Squee and Demigod of Revenge?

It can temporarily get things out of the graveyard and it can get itself out of the graveyard back to your hand.

Emotional Red Design

New 10 Jan 2015 Asked by kdogthelegendary 91 Comments

I see more and more people asking for examples of the non-anger side of Red. A perfect example of that is Feldon of the Third Path from the Red Commander 2014 deck. He misses his wife, so he keeps trying to recreate her, but it isn't her and he destroys the artifact version of her. It's flavorful perfection.

I too love the design of that card. It’s a tough emotion to pull off on a lot of cards though.

I have an irrational eagerness to get my hands on Feldon of the Third Path. From conception to execution the set is looking great--please congratulate the C14 team on our behalves!

I will. I agree they did a great job.
