Re: Tutoring planeswalkers - White already has four planeswalker tutors in eternal formats - Djeru, With Eyes Open, Academy Rector, Call the Gatewatch, and Ignite the Beacon. Three of those are also legal in Modern and Pioneer

Form of the Second Sun

If players are Planeswalkers by lore, and Form of the Approach of the Second Sun makes someone into a card, can we be interacted with by cards like Garth or Call the Gatewatch? Or if it's just flavor, then what do we taste like once we're a card?

The players are planeswalkers, so if you get made into a card by Form of the Approach of the Second Sun, you are a planeswalker card and can be interacted with as such. Note that if you leave the library or the library get shuffled, you stop being a card.Yes, many shenanigans can happen with Yet Another Aether Vortex (provided you find a way to not die to 0 loyalty).

White Tutor Effects

White seems to be getting a few tutor effects in recent times (Call the Gatewatch, Recruiter of the Guard). Is this new design space that's being explored in White, and can we see more of it in the future?

White having tutors for specific subsets of cards is nothing new.

Completing Tutor Cycle

New 29 Apr 2016 Asked by ccantman 20 Comments

We have Fabricate (artifact), Idyllic Tutor (enchantment), Call the Gatewatch (planeswalker), Sylvan Scrying(land). Will the cycle ever be completed? Sorcery, Instant and Creature versions?

I don’t see it as a cycle, but I’m sure we’ll get to them all eventually.

Mechanic Rarity Concern

"it’s odd to print something that only works with a handful of mythic rare cards". But what about Call the Gatewatch?

One card is very different than a whole class of cards.
