Punctuation in Titles

New 14 Sep 2022 Asked by melsanoma 71 Comments

Just saw the spoiled Kill! Maim! Burn!. I would like to request more punctuation! In titles! Please? We mostly have apostrophes for possessive's words and commas, for legendary epithets. There's a whole world of punctuation to choose from—like the em dash (which is different from a "regular" dash) and colons (which is also an important part of the human digestive system). Can I get a maybe‽

Unglued had the first card name with an exclamation point (Denied!, Incoming!, and Mine, Mine, Mine!).Unhinged had the first card name with a question mark (Question Elemental?).I’m proud to say Unfinity has the first card name with both a question mark and an exclamation point. Un-sets: Paving the Way for Magic’s Future.

No. It can’t be a word within the word.

Black Border Potential

Gerrymandering, Goblin bookie, Hungry Hungry Heifer, Mine mine mine!, mirror mirror, once more with feeling. Could these cards be printed in black bordered world with color pie and ruling ajustments?

Assuming we avoid the same name in black border/silver border issue, here’s where they stand: Gerrymandering: Fine in black border. Quirky for green but doable. Goblin Bookie: Has the problem of dice not meaning anything in black bordered Magic. Fits red fine. Hungry Hungry Heifer: Could be done in black border design-wise. I don’t know about development-wise. I’m not sure what color gets this philosophically so green seems fine. Mine, Mine, Mine!: Same as Hungry Hungry Heifer except I think I know this is broken development-wise. Pretty sure this wants to be blue not green. Once More With Feeling: Fine design-wise. I think fine development-wise but not my call. White seems fine.
