Hamlet Captain

Favorite Cards Trivia

It was my birthday a few days ago and I am very persistent! Do you have any trivia on one or both of my favorite cards: Champion of the Parish and Hamlet Captain?

Champion of the Parish was a tweak on a lord. Rather than make all of Humans bigger, they make him bigger. It was a neat way to get a larger White creature. Happy Belated Birthday!

Lord Design Article

Have you ever written an article on lord design? They all seem to have the "It itself is X, and it improves other X" template. Sure, you've changed that from the old "It itself may or may not be X, and it may improve itself in addition to other X", but surely there's other possible options as well. Conditionals (Like Hamlet Captain?), X and Y, who knows.

Um, two and half weeks ago during Lord Week. You might want to check out dailymtg.com. It’s pretty cool. We have a couple of articles about Magic every day. :) Here’s the article: http://www.wizards.com/magic/Magazine/Article.aspx?x=mtg/daily/mm/187

Innistrad's Human Leader

The human captain was Hamlet Captain, right? You had him in Innistrad so that you could contrast something like "The humans had one lord, but now the monsters have FOUR lords! zomg scary" for Dark Ascension. Something like that?

That is correct.
