Godhead of Awe Trivia

New 17 May 2024 Asked by jaqeax 32 Comments

Can I get some birthday trivia on my favorite card, Godhead of Awe? Thanks.

The Godhead of Awe cycle came about because we were trying to lean into what hybrid does best, and one of those things is support more colored mana pips in costs, so we said let’s make a cycle of five pip hybrid cards.Happy Birthday!

Pronouncing Mana Costs

Sorry, I mistyped. How would you pronounce Godhead of Awe's mana cost?

The mana cost is (w/u)(w/u)(w/u)(w/u)(w/u). We’d say “hybrid, hybrid, hybrid, hybrid, hybrid - white/blue”.

Colorful CMC Creatures

Other creatures with all 5 CMC requiring coloured mana: The Spirit Avatar cycle from Shadowmoor/Eventide (Demigod of Revenge, Deus of Calamity, Ghastlord of Fugue, Godhead of Awe, Ghastlord of Fugue, Deity of Scars, Divinity of Pride, Dominus of Fealty, Nobilis of War, and Overbeing of Myth). So there's another 10.

Check the article. It now mentions them. : )

Gods in Sets

Kamigawa was the "last set with gods?" MaRo, I think you're mistaken. What about Shadowmoor, with such cards as DEUS of Calamity, DEMIGOD of Revenge, and GODhead of Awe? Or Eventide, with DEITY of Scars?

You are correct. I was in error.
