Elvish impersonators... are they elves or elf or are they elves (pronounced Elvis)? Asking because my playgroup allows some uncards

They are creature type Elf. All plurals became singular years ago.

I'm a half hour early but... Birthday trivia time?! My first ever card was Elvish Impersonators, can I have a little info that the question Mark's might not know?

The sketch for Elvish Impersonator showed young Elvis, but I gave back the note, “no, old Elvis”.Happy Birthday!

Creature Types Unchanged

Is there a reason not all Unglued creatures got updated creature types? For instance, Elvish Impersonators is "Elves" rather than "Elf" in Gatherer, and Knight of the Hokey Pokey isn't human.

With rare exception we didn’t mess with the creature types. There was enough other stuff going on.

Elvish Impersonators Reason

Is Elvish Impersonators silver-bordered because of the use of dice?

Yes. Black border Magic does not use six-sided (or any-sided) dice in rules text.

Pop Culture References

How far can you go when referencing pop-culture in Un-sets? I know you made Elvish Impersonators, but could pop singer Justin Beeble or electronic artist Squirrellex show up?

The trick in past Un-sets was to make references that were already well established so they wouldn’t seem dated with time. Note we failed in a few spots with this strategy, the most famous being the chihuahua on Jester’s Sombrero saying “Yo quiero Kormus Bell."  For the youngin’s, that is a parody of a Taco Bell commercial from many years ago.
