Queen Marchesa

Marchesa's Role Change

Do you know why the new marchesa is a rogue and not an assassin (as she was on Queen Marchesa)? Is it just because she's playing cards more than she's killing people on Thunder Junction?

My gut is it didn’t fit. Making her a Rogue keeps her an outlaw.EDIT: Didn’t fit on the type line.

Querying Queen Marchesa's Errata

How did Queen Marchesa miss the Nobles Errata even though she's an assassin that killed Brago, and became queen, Is there something I am missing?

She’s not a noble. She didn’t became a queen by birth. She did it by murder.

Modern-legal Supplemental Sets Obstacle

Hi Mark, What are the barriers to letting supplemental sets be legal in Modern like they are in Legacy? I'd love to have Queen Marchesa in Modern :-)

It would require significant extra testing.

Marchesa's Royalty Status

I’m confused. Was Marchessa not of the nobility? Is Queen more of an ornamental title? I understand Ant Queen and Hornet Queen not being errata-ed, but it seems weird to me to not add the creature type to creatures that clearly should have it.

Queen Marchesa was not nobility. She gained the throne the old fashioned way, through assassination. : )

Noble Mechanics

Why haven't some cards (like Queen Marchesa) been errata'd to become Nobles?

Noble is being used to mean of nobility, not just being a leader.

Token Types Simplified

New 30 Oct 2017 Asked by retrofox101-blog 34 Comments

Why is it that token makers, if they make a token with a class, often don't give that token a race? For example, Queen Marchesa makes assassin tokens and Oketra the True makes warrior tokens.

We usually only have tokens have one creature type to simplify things as many players don’t use the token cards.
