Chatter of the Squirrel

Old Frame Possibility

I saw that in the Mystery Booster, you had Chatter of the Squirrel in the old frame style. Does that open up the possibility of printing new cards with the old style frame?

The Mystery Boosyer has what we call straight pick-ups, meaning that we literally took the file as is and printed it (adding the Planeswalker symbol to show it’s this printing). That is a different thing than printing a new card, with updated rules text, which is how we normally make cards.

Black Squirrels Controversy

Have you said why Squirrels could no longer be black bordered from now on? Overrunning my opponent with 1/1 squirrels doesn't sound any sillier than doing the same with 1/1 mice or bats. Maybe Chatter of the Squirrel is a bit too goofy a card name, but Squirrel Nest seems reasonable to me, especially since Hornet Nest was printed in M15.

I don’t get it, and I’ve been having this fight for many years.

Squirrel Humor Observation

I think part of the reason why so many people see squirrels as jokes is because a lot of the older squirrel cards were given a humorous treatment. Cards like "Acorn Harvest," "Nut Collector," and "Chatter of the Squirrel" just sound silly, even though there is nothing weird with them mechanically.

I think Squirrels lend themselves towards humor.Three squirrels walk into a bar… - 🐿
