You can attach lands to permanents using multiple cards though, like mycosynth lattice and bludgeon brawl.

Fair enough.

Equipment Support in White

Something that has always kind of bothered me is the fact that even though Red is the color of fire and weaponsmithing, you give what little Equipment support there is to White (aside from quirky stuff like Bludgeon Brawl that references Equipment but doesn't actually synergize with it). It's hard to imagine many people arguing against White having the better creature base of the two colors. So why does White even need these effects?

Because white is the army color so it gets a proficiency with weapons.

Izzet Artifact Synergy

New 04 Dec 2012 Asked by chaosof99 9 Comments

While planning a Nicol Bolas Commander deck I came to notice something bizarre: There is not a single blue-red multicolor card that mentions the word "artifact". There are Crosis's Charm and Mishra, but both of them are also black. I find this strange. I always thought red was the color that cared the most about artifacts next to blue, with cards such as Bludgeon Brawl, Aladdin, Artillerize, Covetous Dragon, etc. How come Izzet doesn't get to play with artifacts, which seems like a natura fit?

Red is not #2 in caring about artifacts. It’s #2 (or #1 depending how you define it) at blowing them up. Red will repurpose artifacts from time to time but that still puts it at #3 behind black.
