First Cards Fondness

I bought a 7th edition Starter with my friend at a comic convention and sat down at a table to learn. As we were playing the instructional game, a guy walked over and game me Avatar of Might and my friend Avatar of Hope. Still treasure those today.

: ) A good reminder that kind gestures to new players can really make an impact.

Avatar of Hope Query

Happy Birthday, As a follow up to your tweet, I think that becoming an Avatar of Hope is very appropriate. Will you endeavour to release a 5/0 creature before that becomes necessary for you?

On Twitter, I said I had officially become an Elesh Norm for a year before becoming an Idleback Spawn. I’ll have to get to work on that 5/0. As I work ahead by several years, I’d better get on it. : )

Design Simplicity

Is any thought given to simplicity of organization when designing cards? Everyone would've gotten the point on Hundred Handed One if it could block any number of creatures and then it shows up in a search alongside Avatar of Hope, Guardian of the Gateless, Thoughtweft Trio, etc.

One of the important things about the art of card design is understanding the difference between the impact of “block any amount” and “block 99 additional”.
