The Cauldron of Eternity

White's Card Advantage

One potent form of card advantage is reusable graveyard recursion, like Eternal Witness and the Cauldron of Eternity. Is it possible for White to see reusable recursion effects more often as a solution to their problem with card advantage? (Another thing to note: graveyard recursion often excludes instants and sorceries, so you wouldn't be undermining it's "draw into it's answers" weakness)

White can “regrow” artifacts, enchantments, planeswalkers and cheaper creatures, so there’s plenty to work with.

Cauldron and Holy Grail

Is the Cauldron of Eternity a reference to the Holy Grail?

It is. In some stories, the Holy Grail can bring back people from death.

Arthurian Legends in Magic

Hey Mark, so the Circle of Loyalty is I assume Arthur's Round Table, the Magic Mirror is the Magic Mirror, the Cauldron of Eternity is the Holy Grail, Embercleave is Excalibur, but what's the Great Henge? Stonehenge doesn't make much sense to me but it's the only thing I can think of

It’s Stone Henge. It plays a small role in some old Arthurian tales and is implied to have magical properties.

Cauldron of Eternity Trivia

Today is my birthday. Think I can get any trivia on The Cauldron of Eternity or any of the legendary artifacts? (Other than that they were part of the quest mechanic)

We always knew we were going to do a Holy Grail as it’s one of most famous magical artifacts from Arthurian lore. As we researched it and found about its various magical powers, we learned that some versions of it were said to raise the dead. That sounded like the perfect choice for the legendary item of the black court as black’s virtue was persistence. Happy Birthday!
