Serra Planeswalker Gratitude

New 08 Sep 2022 Asked by theinimitablewhimsyfox 27 Comments

Not a question, and I know this is old news, but I just wanted to thank y'all for printing Serra the Benevolent. I had wanted a planeswalker card for her since Lorwyn and the result was exactly what I wanted. She's best friends with Lyra in my angel deck ^_^

I’m happy you’re enjoying it.

Serra Token Naming

Mark, do you know why the token made by "Serra the Benevolent" are not called "Serra Angel"? It would have been so cool!

Most tokens’ names are just the creature type of the creature token.

Angels and Planeswalkers

I was beyond excited when I saw the release of Serra the Benevolent. Angels are my favorite type and it got me to thinking: is it possible for an angel to become a planeswalker? I would think no for created angels, but maybe for souls who have arisen as Serra Angels?

Technically created beings can’t have a spark, but as Karn demonstrates, there are work arounds.

Appreciating White Cards

New 02 Mar 2019 Asked by petruscaex 67 Comments

In behalf of my fellow Commander players I must thank you and all the staff responsible for the amazing cards we've been seeing in the last sets and announcements, specially for White. Serra the Benevolent, Smothering Tithe, Angelic Exaltation, Dawn of Hope and Divine Visitation (I could cite many others actually) were really awesome for the format! EDH community may complain a lot but we know that you're always working hard to make the game better for everyone :)

Thank you. That’s nice to hear.

Serra's True Form

why was serra the benevolent depicted as a human instead of an angel?

Serra was never an angel. She made the Serra Angels.
