Pursuit of Knowledge

Friends as Commanders

Re: Friends as Commanders, for Monica I'd do Butterbur, Bree Innkeeper, she creates food and plays host to the other characters (I believe Monica is 'The Apartment's' most consistent occupant on the show). For Ross, I have Gavi, Nest Warden: creates Dinosaurs, is red (Ross has a small chaos streak) and the cycling cost reduction represents his pursuit of knowledge.

Choosing Pursuit of Knowledge

Now that the full set is spoiled, was the enchantment "Pursuit of Knowledge" from Stronghold ever considered as a reprint for the set? On the surface it seems like it would fit into Strixhaven, and hasn't actually ever been reprinted.

No, that’s not how we want you to white card draw.

White's Card Strategies

"'rekian asked: Hi there, Mark! Will white ever get card draw and ramp in any shape or form? I have always wanted to buy a mono white EDH deck but I feel the lack of those two features so rough...' Neither are white strengths. White occasionally gets Plains and can draw in very narrow situations." Is Pursuit of Knowledge a break, then?

Yes, it’s a break.

I just saw Pursuit of Knowledge (from Stronghold). Isn't that a blue card, in both mechanics and name?

Absolutely.

Blue's Dual Associations

New 03 Nov 2014 Asked by danielpottercreativity 31 Comments

Is there a color pie reason why blue is connected to both the sea and the pursuit of knowledge? Or is that something that Richard decided with Alpha, and if so, do you think he made the right choice?

Historically, through things like astrology, there has been a connection between air and water and mental processing.

Color Pie Errors

Pursuit of Knowledge looks so blue; even the name is blue. Why did it get printed in white?

Magic has made mistakes along the way.

Color Pie Importance

Is Pursuit of Knowledge as bad for the color pie as Chaos Warp?

Yes. White is the color with the most different answers so it’s important that it has the worst card advantage.

Iron Man’s Colors

New 05 Apr 2014 Asked by philbratcher 31 Comments

Does the fact that someone's smart automatically make them blue? For instance, I've heard some say Iron Man is a blue/black hero, but the only blue I see in him is that he's smart. He's not really in the pursuit of knowledge, he just wants to be a giant celebrity.

That is untrue. Tony Stark’s character is very much about discovery of information. He’s an inventor because he’s fascinated by what he can discover. Tony is very blue.
