New Argive

Dominaria United Creatives

New 12 Sep 2022 Asked by dalenthas 38 Comments

Can you give the World Building team a high five for nailing the creative in Dominaria United? I love how over only 4 Commons we get the sense that New Argive is a very blended and cosmopolitan society, with Humans, Orcs, Kor, and Dwarves all living and fighting together.

Will do!

Vanity Cards Rule

New 22 Nov 2018 Asked by djscrub 62 Comments

Would a Nevinyrral card not violate the rule against vanity cards? Is that kind of a "can't unring the bell" thing like being allowed to make new maros or visit Adarkar in New Argive even though those things wouldn't receive those names today?

Two things:
1) Grandfathered terms are grandfathered. We can make new cards using names that started as a vanity name.
2) The vanity rules prevent making vanity cards of Wizards employees. We can reference anyone else if we desire. Larry Niven has never been a Wizards employee.

Dominaria Map Structure

I don't know i you can tell us this, but is the map released for Dominaria circular? For example, is New Argive close to Tolaria West? Or are there unknown things further east and west?

It’s a globe if that’s what you’re asking?

Dominaria's Future Explored

New 05 Aug 2017 Asked by aliasisudonomo 113 Comments

Re: who in Dominaria, I'm almost more interested in whats. Like, while a lot of individual characters are unlikely to still be alive, there's their descendants and the institutions they established. Let's see New Argive, or Tolaria West, or whatever happened to Sarpadia, or Jamuraa. (Especially the last - sub-Saharan African fantasy is rare on the ground.) Maybe Urza and Mishra are long dead, but who was inspired by them? Did the thallids and the thrulls ever establish cultures? Like that.

Awesome question. What would you all like to see when we return to Dominaria?
