Lightning Greaves

Shroud to Hexproof

If/when: Shroud gets errata'd to Hexproof to match player intuition and "fix" Lightning Greaves.

If. We stopped making shroud because of player intuition, but I doubt we’ll do functional errata.

Red's Hexproof Potential

New 20 Dec 2014 Asked by vault756 20 Comments

Could Red have Hexproof based on an ability to "dodge" magic? Most cards dealing with incredible speed are red and we've already seen something like this in Swiftfoot Boots and Lightning Greaves before that.

Red is not defensive in its magic.

Lightning Greaves Effect

Why does putting on a pair of lighting greaves make a creature forget how to pick up an ax?

Have you tried on a pair of lightning greaves? They make you forget to do all sorts of things because you’re having too much fun.

Walls in Combat

Surely though, walls being able to block is just a concession made to elegance? Sometimes we have to sacrifice perfect flavour like noncreature walls so we can use them in combat. Elephants can't wear Lightning Greaves, MaRo.

But my point is that there are plenty of flavorful sentient things that make perfect sense as a defender. I wouldn’t mind walls if we had no other elegant way to do it, but we do.
