Seal Cards Request

New 27 Nov 2023 Asked by heavenlyevan 80 Comments

Can I ask for more Magic cards featuring seals (the animal)? Thanks!

Sure.Real story, we printed the card Ground Seal and only after it was printed did we say, “Oh, there’s a second definition.”

Confusion Over Graveyard Targeting

New 21 Oct 2017 Asked by doctor-fragenstien 74 Comments

Ground Seal stops cards in graveyards from being targeted, but I don't think graveyards themselves can even be targeted. Is that something you might do in the future, maybe in an un-set? :)

Ground Seal was the card I was thinking of.

Graveyard Hate Hierarchy

New 12 Apr 2015 Asked by webfootedfreak 15 Comments

Asked this a couple of days ago, but I guess it got lost, so I'll try again. I know graveyard hate appears in white, black, and green. But which would be considered primary, secondary and tertiary? Or does black fall in a different category of hate? I know white and green tend to seal off the grave (rest in peace, ground seal, etc.) while black tends to exile cards from it.

Exiling cards in graveyards in primary in Black and secondary in White. Green shuffles cards from the graveyard back into their owner’s library.

Rarity of Seal Mechanic

I recently noticed a food item that was packaged with a film marked "Quality Seal" - and my immediate response seems to have been influenced by your reading of Ground Seal. Thanks for that. On an artificially related note, the Rakdos Seals (of Fire and of Doom) from the original Ravnica block were some of my favourite reprints. Is there a reason we don't see the Seal mechanic all that often? Is there a reason it was used exclusively in Rakdos colours, last time?

They played well with Rakdos’ mechanic, Hellbent.

Seal Card Humor

Does Imperial Seal affect you the same way that Ground Seal does?

I’m curious who the Imperial Seal rules over. Other seals?
