Exquisite Blood

Enchantment Sheet Feedback

I love the enchantment bonus sheet, and while not all of the cards are to my taste, it's growing on me. However, one piece of feedback: when there's such an iconic combo like Sanguine Bond/Exquisite Blood where both fit the theme, it's a real shame for only one to get printed. I really want the matching pair for my deck

There are a lot of balls in the air when it comes to choosing reprints as we use reprints in a lot of different places, so it’s not so easy to do things like that as you might hope.

Infinite Combos Concern

Hey Mark,Forgive me if this is not a you relevant question - what's the logic with having infinite cycles leading to pretty much instant death? The main one I can think of is Exquisite Blood and something like Marauding Blight Priest. Is this not considered to break the game overly?(also I'd like to say thank you for this blog - I have just discovered it and spent a particularly enjoyable day reading about 50 pages of it.)

I’m not sure you can make a game with 25,000 pieces and not have interactions that win the game. We have to be careful how easy two win combinations are, but them existing if they’re hard enough to do is okay.Glad you’re enjoying the blog. I’ve answered over 35,000 questions, so there’s plenty to read. : )

Life Loop Clarification

New 16 Feb 2020 Asked by stilljustvasha 60 Comments

I have a friend that insists triggering exquisite blood and sanguine bond causes the game to stalemate. I and everyone else I can see seems to read it that when the loop causes all enemies to reach 0 life, the game ends. My friend won't listen though unless it comes from an official MTG source. Can you clarify this for me?

When all the opponents’ life reaches 0, the game ends and you win.

Black's Capabilities

Black has also multiplied the change of life difference a few times. Wound Reflection making opponents lose the life they've lost a second time, Sanguine Bond making your life gain drain the opponent for the same amount, Exquisite Blood healing you for opponent life loss, not to mention all the drain spells which basically do the same thing.
