Entreat the Angels

XXW Mana Cost Query

New 25 Oct 2016 Asked by nobthehobbit 18 Comments

So I just noticed that there are no cards with a mana cost of XXW. (Decree of Justice is XX2WW, Entreat the Angels is XXWWW, and Quarantine Field is XXWW.) Every other colour has an XXM card. (Is M what you're using for generic coloured mana these days? I can't recall.)

It is. We don’t really think of it as an unfinished cycle, but I’m sure we’ll eventually get to it.

Miracle Cost Creatures

Had a creature with a miracle cost ever been considered? Maybe a prototype of Avacyn or something

Entreat the Angels makes token creatures. Isn’t that color enough?

Character Set Possibilities

What are the chances of Edric and Ordic appearing in the same set?

Maybe we can get Cedric in too. (He doesn’t exist yet so we’ll have to make him.) EDIT: Okay, we did keep Entreat the Angels. : )

Creatureless Decks Perspective

New 04 Jun 2012 Asked by ridingoutontheshockwave 5 Comments

"You do understand that a creatureless deck just won the Pro Tour?" is misleading. Entreat the Angels, while a sorcery in name, is a spell that only puts creatures into play, and he had Snapcaster Mages and Giests of St Traft in his sideboard if I recall.

The point behind the fascination with “creatureless decks” is the idea of a deck that wins on a completely different axis. Hayne’s deck is very untraditional winning a game based on controlling the game through spells. Nitpicking about whether or not a creature is every on the battlefield seems to be missing the point, in my opinion.
