Drown in Sorrow

Black's Removal Ability

Sorry if you've answered this before, but I couldn't find it anywhere. With Black being the best at creature removal, is Damnation outside Black's share of the color pie (like Path to Exile in white)? If so, what about it specifically, as opposed to other black sweepers like Drown in Sorrow? Thanks!

Black is allowed to kill lots of creatures. It is perfectly within Black’s color pie.

Emotions in Colors

If red is the color if emotion, why is Drown in Sorrow black?

Red is about making decisions by following your emotions. All the other colors still have emotions.

Keyword Concept Challenge

Has R&D ever considered a keyword that's kind of the inverse of hexproof, i.e., the permanent with the keyword isn't affected by sweeping effects? For example, a 1/1 green creature with this keyword would die to Doom Blade or Mizzium Mortars, but not Supreme Verdict, Drown in Sorrow, or an overloaded Mizzium Mortars. Sort of like "protection from board wipe" (though "protection" doesn't quite describe it). Is this interesting or too clunky to work?

The rules don’t work for it. We’ve tried to make that card for years.
