Rarity's Impact

Rarity matters only for formats like Pauper; see how Peregrine Drake's rarity change in Eternal masters shook the format last year.

Rarity matters in Un-sets due to things like Rare-be-Gone that destroys Rares and Mythic Rares.

ETB Mechanic Confusion

New 02 Jan 2017 Asked by reallymystictaco 27 Comments

The recent ban on Peregrine Drake got me thinking about exploiting powerful ETB effects, and how the Eldrazi can't be abused because the effect is triggered when the card is casted. Have you ever considered replacing some instances of ETB with "when this card resolves", or would that be too confusing?

The term “resolves” would confuse a lot of players.
