Policy on Future Un-cards

New 15 Apr 2022 Asked by honor-basquiat 26 Comments

I want to make sure I understand the current policy going forward with future Un-cards. It seems that if a card doesn't have any issues working within the official rules of the game then it will be a traditional black bordered card rather than an Acorn card (but still could be included in an Unset). For example, if Paper Tiger or Poultrygeist were created today, they would NOT be Acorn/Silver bordered. Is that correct? If so, I am a big fan of that policy.

That is the policy.

Un-cards at FNM

I acquired Rock Lobster, Paper Tiger, and Scissors Lizard from Unglued. I use them instead of a die to determine who plays first at FNM. It makes everyone smile. Who says Un-cards aren't played at FNM? Thanks Maro!

Happy to help.

Un-cards Type Status

Un-Rules Question: So Rock Lobster, Scissors Lizard, and Paper Tiger are all Artifact Creatures from Unglued without a species or class. They did not get updated with The Great Creature Type Update. What are their species and or class?

Un-cards are not currently updated in Oracle so they didn’t get touched by the Great Creature Update.

Do you ever get asked to sign cards or autographs? If so How can i get you to sign my set of Rock Lobster Scissor Lizard and Paper Tiger?

Welcome to Blogatog. : ) Yes, I am often asked to sign cards which I will happily do. You need to send them to the address below along with a self-addressed stamped envelope to get them back. Mark Rosewater

Designer of Creatures

Who designed Rock Lobster, Paper Tiger, and Scissors Lizard? A friend bought me a playset of each and I was thinking of getting them signed. :)

That would be me. Alliances did have the idea of a rock, paper scissors mechanic in design (it never made it to print) but this incarnation was my doing.
