Muscle Sliver Art and Goad

New 06 Mar 2022 Asked by rwssr 28 Comments

Hi Mark, two questions. Can we ever get the Dual Masters art of Muscle Sliver released on a tournament legal card, and now that Goad is evergreen for Commander, can we at least see it as deciduous in premier sets?

I’m not sure the rules of reusing Duel Master art. We have no plans of using goad in non-multiplayer sets.

Likelihood of Non-symmetric Slivers

Is it likely to see Crystalline Sliver, Hibernation Sliver, Muscle Sliver, or Hunter Sliver in Modern through a non-standard product?

We’re more likely to make new non-symmetrical versions than brings those back.

Slivers Mechanic Discussion

"Slivers are the one exception and even then we’re careful to grant abilities that don’t stack." So Muscle Sliver and Sinew Sliver were mistakes?

At common? Absolutely. And two mana is probably too aggressive, especially at common where you can draft multiples.

Pauper Staples Update

If Pauper is a hot topic, one thing I'd request as a Pauper fan is modern borders and modern art for Pauper staples, like a non-foil but modern layout of Metallic Sliver (for the Sliver deck). Or maybe an updated version of Slivers with the modern Sliver style, like Muscle Sliver.

That’s an easier request to consider.

Poisonous Mechanic

Say I have virulent sliver with poison 1 and a muscle sliver, at this point the muscle sliver is making the virulent sliver a 2/2 and say I hit an opponent with no blocks, would I give them one poison counter or two??

Poisonous is based on the number and has nothing to do with the creature’s power. Poisonous 1 will always give 1 poison.

What's your favorite sliver today?

Muscle Sliver because you never mind drawing another one.
