Falkenrath Aristocrat

Human Sacrifice Theme

It is my birthday! Could I have some trivia on a creature I owe many wins to, Falkenrath Aristocrat? Or if you don't have any, Aetherling.

Dark Ascension was trying to show the humans in terrible peril so we made a little theme out if sacrificing humans. Happy Birthday!

Yay it's finally my birthday!! (i've been following almost from the beggining but always forgot to ask my trivia) so... any trivia on one of my favourite cards Falkenrath Aristocrat?? Also i would like to take a minute to say thanks for your hard work, and do what you best do: being AWESOME!! oh, and magic, yeah let's not forget that (:

This card came about because we were trying to have more vampires that fed on humans. The flavor was that the rush of feeding makes them tougher to kill but it’s the human blood that really energizes them. Happy Birthday!

Cannibal Flavor Cards

You once said shock comedy is cheap. Explain why last year we had cards with a cannibal flavor called Cartel Aristocrat and Falkenrath Aristocrat.

If I said shock comedy was cheap (and I’m doubtful that I did), I didn’t mean it as an insult.

Card Wording Differences

Re: Why do some cards (Falkenrath Aristocrat, Viscera Seer) just say 'Sacrifice a creature:' whereas other cards (Cartel Aristocrat) say 'Sacrifice another creature:'? (chewylsbIf) The creature is granting an ability to itself by sacrificing a creature, we don’t let you sacrifice the creature to itself because we feel it’s bad flavor. (MaRo) Care to explain in regards to Falkenrath Aristocrat and Cartel Aristocrat specifically? Both are giving itself an ability yet they are worded differently

Because Falkenrath Aristocrat predates our decision to do this.

If the creature is granting an ability to itself by sacrificing a creature, we don’t let you sacrifice the creature to itself because we feel it’s bad flavor.
